Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technology Support Analyst to join our IT infrastructure team in Fargo, ND. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our enterprise network infrastructure**, as well as providing comprehensive technical support to end users across the organization**. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Fortigate firewalls, VPN technologies, and Cisco switching environments, combined with excellent customer service skills and the ability to troubleshoot diverse technical issues, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performance network operations and exceptional end user experiences across our organization.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • The Technology Support Analyst will manage and maintain all aspects of our network infrastructure, including planning, deploying, and supporting enterprise-level network systems. This includes administering and troubleshooting Fortigate firewall environments, implementing and maintaining security policies, managing VPN connections for remote access and site-to-site connectivity, and ensuring network security best practices are followed throughout the organization.
  • Daily operations involve configuring and managing Cisco IOS switches, performing network monitoring and performance optimization, troubleshooting network connectivity issues, and maintaining network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures. The role requires managing EMS (Endpoint Management System) infrastructure to ensure endpoint security and compliance across the enterprise environment.
  • End user support responsibilities include responding to help desk tickets and service requests in a timely manner, troubleshooting hardware and software issues including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices, providing technical assistance via phone, email, and in-person support, setting up and configuring new user accounts, workstations, and equipment, assisting users with password resets, email configuration, and application access issues, training end users on technology tools and best practices, and escalating complex technical issues to appropriate teams when necessary.
  • This position collaborates with IT teams to support network requirements for various business applications and services, participates in network capacity planning and infrastructure upgrade projects, implements network changes following established change management procedures, and provides technical support and escalation for network-related issues.
  • The analyst will also conduct regular network assessments and recommend improvements for performance, security, and reliability while staying current with emerging network technologies and security threats.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proven experience administering Fortigate firewall appliances including policy configuration, NAT, routing, and security features
  • Strong knowledge of VPN technologies including IPSec, SSL VPN, and site-to-site VPN configurations
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS switch configuration, VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, and port security
  • Experience with EMS platforms for endpoint management and security
  • Proficiency in network protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Understanding of network security principles, access control lists, and intrusion prevention systems
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Knowledge of wireless networking and access point management
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common business applications
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT service management practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Meraki cloud-managed networking solutions
  • Familiarity with network automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, or similar)
  • Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and implementation
  • Experience with the Fortinet suite of products
  • Understanding of SIEM integration and log management
  • Previous experience in multi-site network environments
  • Industry certifications such as Fortinet NSE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or CompTIA Network+
  • Experience with remote support tools and remote desktop solutions
  • ITIL Foundation certification or familiarity with ITIL practices

Work Environment

This position is based in our Fargo, ND office and may require occasional travel to other office locations. The role involves working in a modern IT infrastructure environment with opportunities for professional development and exposure to enterprise-level networking technologies. Some after-hours work may be required for maintenance windows, upgrades, and emergency situations. This is a hybrid role balancing infrastructure management with direct end user support, requiring flexibility to shift between project work and responding to immediate user needs.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on network administration experience in an enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated experience with the specific technologies mentioned in required qualifications
  • Proven track record of providing technical support to end users in a professional environment
